We are finally at the stage of consulting with our families and community about the rebuild of our school.
DPP Planning are preparing to submit a planning application on behalf of Tilbury Douglas Construction and the Department for Education for the demolition of existing buildings following the construction of a replacement teaching block together with associated playing fields, staff car parking and landscaping at Skelton Primary School. The project is being funded by the Department for Education, who are prioritising the rebuilding and refurbishment of schools through the School Rebuilding Programme.
It is proposed that a new school building will be erected to the south of the site, which will comprise a single, two-storey block housing teaching accommodation, a hall to be used for dining and sports, offices, and other social and storage spaces. Following demolition, new playing fields will be constructed on the site of the existing school. Subject to planning permission, all works are anticipated to be complete by March 2027.
